Easter At Grandma and Pa's

Before the Egg Hunt - Super Excited

Well, maybe not Shiloh, but she warmed up to it.
Eventually
Handsome Dude
Look at that stash.  She was very kind and shared hers - unprompted - with the little ones.

Once Benjamin discovered what was in the eggs, he stopped the search and just started eating.

To the Zoo with Good Company

Uncle Brett and Aunt Jessica decided they wanted to come up and see US!  We were very excited and privileged to have their company for the weekend.  My kids love uncle Brett.  I think Laurel didn't let him sit down the whole time he was here.

We took a short trip to the zoo to see the new tiger exhibit.  It is not quite finished, but it was pretty cool to see those beautiful animals.  But you know, apart from the tigers, I just kept seeing monkeys...

Here are some of the cuter monkeys we saw.
 Another monkey.  Very cute.
We, of course, took the train.  A must when you attend the zoo with Michael.

 Oh, wait... More monkeys!
We loved the company.  That was the best part.  Thanks for coming up, guys.  You are welcome anytime.  Are you busy next weekend? :)

Easter Party

I volunteered to help with Michael's Easter party at school.  It was pretty fun.  Short and sweet, given the 30 minute time limit.  Michael did not care for the songs or finger-play, the story was okay, he did enjoy decorating the eggs, but he liked the bird nest treats the best.

 Working hard...
Finished product
YUM!  The best part.  Thanks for the idea, mom.

A First Time for Everything

You have to record the important milestones, right?  Well, this is the first time Benjamin got the beater all to himself after cookie making.  He enjoyed it very much.

The House

This will be a very long post - with lots of pictures.  However, the pictures are necessary to tell the story.
Some of you have expressed interest in the projects I completed on the house while Erik was gone - while I was experiencing my nesting syndrome.  So, I took a few pictures of the house, but they cannot be fully appreciated without seeing the "before" pictures.  I figure I may as well go back to the beginning and catalog ALL the projects we have completed on this house.  So, here is our house when we moved in - July 2009:

The Front of the House: Before
You can't tell from this picture, but there was no driveway - only concrete runners.

*added window boxes
*put up a flag
*had the unused chimney removed
*poured a driveway and parking pad
*built a shed (you can see it over the fence in the back yard) in order to clean out the garage in which we now park our van

So, anyway, that's the house.  We are still working on it.  I don't think I left anything out.  Other projects on our "Dreaming About" list are:  bathrooms, covered parking on the parking pad, and a stone patio and walkway in the back.  On our "To Do" list is: painting the garage and fixing the lawn.

Do we like projects?  Evidently.  We'll see how many more we will get done while we are here.
